I think it's if you've accessed your statements online they've automatically switched you to paperless.

Over the years I've always used both. Received a letter saying the default is now paperless. I think I've changed back but it's as clear as mud on the web page.

Haven't things changed from when suppliers had, choose paperless and get xxx off your bills.

I don't think we have long to go before, choose paper and get xxx added to your bills.

Re: Smart Meter... no way. They must be joking

When I was with BT a paper bill cost you £1.50 for monthly-billed customers.  The bit that puzzled me was the £4.50 charge per bill for quarterly billed customers.  I know their bills require a degree in accountancy, but the number of pages and the work, envelope, postage etc. involved in producing a quarterly bill would surely not be three times that of producing a monthly bill.

Picked this up earlier from our local shop (for local people) - seems they have a campaign going. Roll_eyes

@Minivanman I'm not for smart meters, but that flyer looks like conspiracy obsessional trash.

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

You may be right, but I only picked it up to have a read and not having my reading glasses with me I had to bring it home to see what it said.

Don't shoot the messenger! Wink

PS. That is an enlagred version, the original is about five by four inches and tiny print.

That looks and reads like it was published by PETA!

I thought they were an American outfit.

They are, I was merely making a comparison.

Ah right, I thought you might have been hinting they were responsible for it in some way. Smiley

Indeed - there are reasons enough not to want one without the OTT scaremongering.

Re: Smart Meter... no way. They must be joking

A tiny leaflet free to pick up off the counter (below in this case) in a local shop about a local meeting in a small market town is hardly OTT scaremongering regardless of content of which I myself only read a couple of lines at most.

Revolution Comrades!

No? OK then. Wink

Re: Smart Meter... no way. They must be joking

It was claimed that 20% of them do not even work and will cease to work if you change supplier.

Seems a mark 2 model is now in use but does that mean these will be switched for the old meter.

Absolute (censored) (censored) waste of money.

Right, have now read that little leaflet over breakfast and yep, it's garbage... which is exactly where it has gone into. Wink
