Had a wander around the Garden, and came across a family of Slugs, ranging from large 4" Mum & Dad Slugs to baby Slugs.
Also, quite a few Snails climbing up into Flower Tubs.
All removed, and placed some distance away.....

and Puppy Dog Tails !!
Remembered that yesterday we had a small dog on the Drive, didn't recognise it.
May have been from the local Village, or someone walking their dog along the adjacent Country Lane.
If so, dangerous to not have it on a lead, it did have a collar though, so perhaps more likely from the Village... escaped !
It yapped at us, then scampered away before we could get to it.
Reminds me of a Nursery Rhyme.
What are little boys made of?
Slugs and snails
And puppy-dogs' tails
That's what little boys are made of
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice
And all things nice
That's what little girls are made of

I've never had a problem with either creature. When the lettuce in the fridge is getting a bit old I'll break it up and put it outside for them. By morning the entire lot is gone and if you go out there in the middle of the night you'll see loads of them all over it eating it. This is good in two ways; the lettuce is not wasted and the garden plants are saved.
I've also found that slugs will eat their dead chums. I've (like most) trodden on a few and killed them. Within a few hours you'll see the others crawling out to eat it and a few hours after that, nothing is left of it.
Same principle applies to ants. We found some exploring our kitchen a while back. I emptied 1/4 of a bag of sugar out of the window and the next day they were nowhere to be seen. While they were scoffing the sugar, I was blocking up the holes they came in through.
You may not like them but you can enjoy a win-win situation without killing them.

Are you a gardener?
Nematodes or the copper ring works for slugs/snails.
