Re: Skytv new charges

Don't and won't have it in the house, after the fiasco I had when I had it back in the analogue days.
Getting cut off virtually daily with them claiming I was a pub!

Save you money and get PN TV!

I saw  something about this on the net about a week ago, was going to post about it, but maybe I forgot... seems like quite a lot of "sky" will be more expensive...

So glad I was not conned or" taken" in by all the hype about it...  I`ve got Freeview on my aerial,  100 channels and 85 % of them I never watch cos they are just rubbish...  Having sky would only increase those numbers and percentage Grin

Re: Skytv new charges

I started a new contract with Sky, 1/2 price for 12 months.  I'm paying £18 instead of £36/month, which is nice.  I do want to cancel when my contract is up though as they have upped my price by £2 a month.  Plusnet is where I want to go for my TV needs, my mother loves the Scyfy channel.  Sadly I'm on FTTP and Plusnet are not bringing their TV to FTTP customers so when my contract is up I don't really know where I'll go to.

Re: Skytv new charges

What i like about sky is everything comes via the sky dish Smiley I dont really need internet to view channels, but having it does make life that little bit better.

As for plusnet tv if im reading this right it comes via my internet so if my internet is down ill have no tv ?  where as with sky i can manage without an internet connection.

Re: Skytv new charges

Plusnet TV is basically Freeview with added premium channels which you get over the interwebs, so if your internet goes down you can still watch TV you just can't stream channels over the internet.  I think it's called Youview+?

Re: Skytv new charges

Having a lot of time to watch TV we do have NowTV to watch certain Sky channels - buying vouchers cuts price considerably.

Freesat is service of choice for regular channels.

Re: Skytv new charges

Had $ky many years ago, when it was a proper subscription based affair, no adverts every 10 minutes, why pay subs and be bombarded with ads?? no wonder they can spend billions on footy ! !

Anyway, just got a new telly, signed up with Netflix (£8.99 per month, cancellable anytime) and Amazon Prime (£80 per year) for the 4K content ..
