Sig

Ok, have earlier got the avatar fixed.

I note that some members have signatures. From "help" and the entry to create a new signature, a username and password is required.

Without any other to choose from, I assume this is asking for my details, but this does not work I only keep being returned to the username and password entry, eventually getting a Verification Required page.

I suspect the answer may be in the non-migrated pages, but I don't have these now. Or at least I don't think I do.

Re: Sig

I think there's an issue with the link pointing to our testing site.

To update your avatar, click your avatar then My Settings. Now under personal settings select personal information and you can update it there.

Re: Sig

When you are logged into the forum, click your name/avatar top right and select My Settings on the drop-down menu.

Then select Personal Information on the menu strip, and signature text can be entered in the appropriately labelled textbox.

Re: Sig

Is it possible to add link and images in your signature, like the old forum?

Re: Sig

Thanks all for mentioning avatar fixes, but I had that sorted out much earlier today.

Thank you for the signature fix, oddly I thought I looked around that area much earlier today but don't recall seeing the "signature" box.

Yes, the signature can contain that sort of information but it has to be coded using proper HTML tags (this forum does not interpret BBcode).

Viewing a post using the HTML and Preview tab will give you an idea of what HTML looks and displays like.

Re: Sig

Coding is easy.  If you want to add an image.......

<img src="url-to-img" >

Bold is <b>text goes here </b> (you have to close the <b> with </b>

Put each line in a <p> </p>

So, as an example...

<p><img src="randomurl"></p>

<p><b>Something, Something, Something...... Dark Side</b></p>

  • You can really mess with the HTML too
  • For instance, this bit here.....
  • You can edit! Try it, editing a post within a post! Useless but fun Cheesy

Re: Sig

Cheers mate. Will get cracking with it tomorrow.

Seems like you can't add emojis from the mobile optimised forum :-(

Re: Sig

If you want emojis Undecided or bold italic etc. when posting from a mobile, you can use 'request desktop site' (or equivalent), if available, from your browser menu.  This works better on some mobile browsers than others.

Re: Sig

You can also use the text smiley equivalents and they'll render as gifs after post submission.
