Just like the massive fires in Australia and California were fueled by the excess build up of fuel in forests ( that used to get removed by controlled burns during cooler seasons until eco-zealots lobbied gullible politicians got controlled burning cut back 'in the interests of nature' LOL ) the fires were blamed on climate change ( a convenient peg for anything these days ). Eco-zealots also cause other problems like flooding due to their lobbying against dredging of water courses. The river Severn by us used to be a highway for transport as far up as Ironbridge, and had to be dredged to keep water deep enough for quite large boats, but it has never been dredged in living memory and the result is that at the first sign of rain the river floods.
Aboriginals in Australia used to carry out burns to revive the forests without destroying them, and had done it for 100,000s of years, and dredging to deepen channels has been a method of flood control throughout - then along came the arrogant and vociferous eco-zealots and trashed all the methods that had been used for a long time, and the result is chaos.

Perhaps the biggest concern is that people with little or no knowledge are being allowed to make changes to things that have worked fine for years....dredging was given as one example...in Cumbria some idiots are claiming sheep are like maggots and should be removed from the fells.
Clearly these people claim to know more than farmers who have been rearing sheep for many generations, who the (censored) allows these idiots to experiment with tried and tested systems that work.

Or if it works then keep fiddling with it until it doesn’t
😀
And it’s not just the environment groups that need to learn that...it applies to a few companies...one of which is well known to us all.
