At least 13 people are reported killed in a shooting in Washington DC.

Could be wrong but I consider the US to be a stable democracy and countries like Syria, Iran and Egypt to be not so stable or democratic.

I have to agree with you there but their gun laws really make me annoyed.  There is currently a right-wing female in one State advocating allowing partially sighted individuals to have the right to carry guns.

It was stated on the news that the person arrested is a buddist and has mental issues.  He was able to gain entry to the base with a pass that allowed his to access all areas.  It is difficult to see how this shooting could have been avoided under the circumstances.
