Sherbet Lemons

I'm sitting here sucking a Sherbet Lemon.

I noticed the pack calls them Lemon Sherbets.

Why is this, I thought....ahh, copyright law.

Re: Sherbet Lemons

You made me check the half empty packet I have.

And you're right. Mine say "Fruit Sherbets".

They're not a patch on the originals.

But that says "Registration of this mark shall give no right to the exclusive use, either separately or together, of the device of a lemon and the words "Sherbet Lemons".  How does that prevent others producing Sherbet Lemons?

Re: Sherbet Lemons

Ah! but the question is; how do they get the sherbet inside?

Do you crunch yours to get the sherbet, or suck them until it leaks out?

Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: Sherbet Lemons

My mum asked me to get a can "creamed rice" recently which is what it used to be called years ago when I was a kid.
Couldn't find it, but in the end I did but it is now renamed as "rice pudding".

Re: Sherbet Lemons

Looking at mysupermarket.co.uk most products are called or described as "creamed rice pudding" e.g. ASDA own brand.

You can still get 'Creamed Rice' if you know where to look ...

... such as the back of my kitchen cupboard!  Wink

OK, they might be a few years past their sell by / use by date, but they're probably perfectly fine to eat.

Now where did I put those Sherbet Lemons ... ?

Re: Sherbet Lemons

All this talk of sherbert had me confused with the sherbert fountains:

Totally and utterly full of tooth rot but i loved them as a kid. I wouldn't touch one for gold now though!

Re: Sherbet Lemons

Ah yes.. I do enjoy 7up but I touch it very rarely believe it or not.

I mainly drink water even though it lacks flavour. Sometimes i'll treat myself to some orangfe squash but thats rare - maybe once or twice in 2-3 days.

7up does remain my favourite fizzy drink but that doesn't mean i drink much of it. I had to rethink this years ago when i was at work and one of my teeth crumbled while eating a sandwich. It was an experience that matched that of many dreams i'd been having where i had the same experience. After becoming a regular at the dentist and changing my sugary habits those dreams have stopped completely so they were clearly a warning from my subconscious.

Re: Sherbet Lemons

@7up

I used to get those types of dreams a lot over the years but haven't for the last couple. In my version no matter how much I tried to spit out the crumbled teeth there was always more to come.
