Scotland's biggest airline goes bust

Scotland's biggest airline, Edinburgh-based Flyglobespan, has been placed in administration with all scheduled flights cancelled.

Another Christmas tradegy..... staff made redundant., and thousands of holidays ruined.... PLUS hundreds stranded abroad, because they booked directly with the airline website, and have no ATOL protection....
Happy Christmas....................... bah humbug  Cry

Is this a particularly bad time for airlines considering BA?

Re: Scotland's biggest airline goes bust

According to the news about ticket prices most airlines that fly into the UK are doing rather nicely out of the current situation.

Re: Scotland's biggest airline goes bust

Ah yes... "the time of year".... seems to me, that several airlines have gone bust over the past 10 years or so,.. " at the time of year".... usually before a major holiday... and I don`t remember the heads of these companies being on the dole for long, and I wonder if they have their holiday disrupted/destroyed.....  still, if you have made a pile and got it in the bank, then it is of little consequence.......
