It looks like it's going to be Coolio, Wettio, then Scorchio again.

Well it's dumping it down here, so much so that it was the skies opening that woke me this morning, and it looks to be getting worse as I can hear the distant tumble of thunder.

Meanwhile and as of late, the south west is missing the worst and getting the best. Light showers overnight here, with sunshine on the rise since just after 5am.

Flash floods turn roads to rivers forcing drivers to abandon cars as a fortnight's rain falls in hours with more torrential downpours on way for southern Britain tonight

Re: Scorchio 2019

As Europe faces El Infierno over the next few days with temperatures up to 40C in some places, here in the UK it's looking more like cool Britannia as we get ready for a much lower 25C which is fine by me as I was still overseas in 2003 and blimey, it was baking hot enough to cook conkers where we were. It was cool inside, killer outside - literally.

Now where's my straw sun hat.

Re: Scorchio 2019

I can currently hear the rumble of distant thunder.

Nothing like last Tuesday night when it was thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightening... the daughter. I ended up taking her to check on the horses in the early hours. At least torches weren't neededWink

30 or 31C forecast for London on Saturday, then 24C on Sunday; I think we can cope with one hot day.
