Re: School bus

As a driver of school coaches, I like the idea of the Indian one for certain elements of the school mafia that get on mine from time to time.
Otherwise, questions on a postcard please I'll pass them round the kids...that should get you some interesting answers!!

Re: School bus

Have you watched that video released recently of American kids tormenting their monitor on the bus?  Quite sickening, so much so that 4chan (home of Anonymous) got involved, found out the names, addresses etc. of the people involved and posted them to the internet, as well as raising thousands of dollars to send the monitor on a holiday (though that was Reddit not Anon).

Re: School bus

At least all the buses look purpose built, even the Indian one.
Here we give a bus a slap of yellow paint and kzam it's a "school bus".

Not quite, you need a yellow square sign with two school children on it in the rear window....then you've got yourself a school bus.
Pedant mode on/
none of our school coaches are yellow
Pedant mode off/

Re: School bus

Must be just down here then.
Last couple of years they started to paint them the same yellow as the American school buses.

Re: School bus

Another company that operates near here has a couple of yellow school buses, but these are conversions from standard (and quite old) buses, and are really only a paint job.
The American School (near Virginia Water, Surrey) all of their (rather posh) school coaches are white, or were the last time I saw them a few years ago now.
Not sure if school buses in the USA have to be yellow but I believe the majority are, and to a specific design that has barely changed for years . I recall the bus shown in the "Sister Act" films was dark blue.
Lots of rules surround school buses in the states, that affect nearby drivers rather than the buses them selves i.e you must not overtake them if stopped to pick-up or drop-off students, they seem to have priority in any road conditions.

Re: School bus

@Petlew, yes the school buses in the US are all yellow and of a similar old design.  If you've ever ridden on one you'll not forget the experience, they are real boneshakers Smiley
