Samsung Galaxy

Just upgraded my Samsing Galaxy S2 to Ice Cream Sandwich.  On the opening screen I now have a permanent google search bar that I can't get rid of.  Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

Re: Samsung Galaxy

Hey,
I have the S3 with ICS, you should be able to tap and hold the search bar, and drag it to the "delete" option at the bottom.
I've just done that with mine Smiley

Hi Matt,  so simple when you know how Smiley  Thank you.  It was driving me crazy. Did you have an S2 before?  Just wondered how they compare.

Re: Samsung Galaxy

Hey,
No problem!
Nah, I upgraded from a Dell Streak urgh, to the S3.
It's pretty good, but to be honest, the difference isn't worth the cost difference!
You're probably better off with the S2, but just be aware that the screen isn't very durable...

Re: Samsung Galaxy

No problem Artmo!
Always happy to help =)
Are you new to Android? or just the S2?
Some apps you want to try if you're geeky are the Star trek Tricorder, Whatsapp (You can send images and stuff to your friends without paying for MMS messages!) and if you're ever out and about and hear a song that you just can't place a name to, download Shazam Smiley

Re: Samsung Galaxy

I'm new to Android and haven't got into apps yet.  I'll have a look at them.  Thanks.

Re: Samsung Galaxy

No problem,
One more I thought of, is a big one, its the App Brain Market - Basically, if for some reason you ever have to switch phone, or reset your phone to defaults. You can sync your apps with this plugin.
Enjoy your new Phone Smiley

Re: Samsung Galaxy

On a PC yes, very impressed with Prey, not on an Andriod.

Prey - "Silent but deadly".
There's a joke in there somewhere.

Re: Samsung Galaxy

Quote from: journeys
On a PC yes

I must be missing something here.  Undecided
Prey is a piece of software to enable tracking etc of lost or stolen equipment upon which it is loaded and running.
I can't remember the last time I had a PC lost or stolen...or a laptop for that matter.
A mobile phone, yes...although I believe I ran over it and destroyed it.
I suppose it's like any insurance, you hope you don't need it but it's nice if it's there if you do.

Re: Samsung Galaxy

You're right Strat it is available for PCs, laptops etc.  I didn't know it was available for mobiles until journey's post.
