Agree with much of your post but I think you're a bit hard on Three.

Would you still be saying that if you found one of your photos had been touched up and then displayed on their website without your consent?

Because their terms and conditions that you've almost certainly not bothered reading but you agree to by using the service, allow them to do that - and more.

Humans have a problem of not giving a damn if something doesn't affect them - until it does and by that point, it's too late.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Checked, my card holders do NOT have the serial number printed on them.....

But the letter that came with the card attached does have the serial number on it !

Depends on the SIM manufacturer, some will have the number on both the carrier and the module, some will not...

My replacement THREE SIM arrived today, the SIM carrier DOES in fact have the SIM Serial number printed on it.

However, the THREE network is down !!

Which is why I used the now discontinued THREE on web app

But it is a premium number, so will keep it on standby

It was working for me about 5 mins ago, so not a national outage.

Re: SIM card serial number

A little method I use, to remove SIM card from slot in phone, I use a small blob of Blu Tack pressed onto the SIM card to provide grip & ease extraction.

Re: SIM card serial number

SIM required activating !

Despite Three stating it didn't.....

As it was a replacement SIM

Re: SIM card serial number

What a load of nonense (trying not to swear here).

When your mobile authenticats on your network, it will send your IMEI to your (serial number of your phone). *#06# on any mobile will tell you.

Also your SIM card has a an IMSI (serial number of your SIM).

So both are transmitted when the phone tries to log on to your network, is your IMEI blacklisted and also has your network stopped your SIM IMSI. As Little Brtain once said "Computer Says No".

Also your SIM has an encypted number and it gets at Ki number challenge.

As described.

SIM worked 10 minutes after activating !

After 3 days of not working.

Theory v Practise

Practise wins every time.

Re: SIM card serial number

You must use an old fashioned "feature phone".

Smartphones have SIM trays that are ejected from the body of the phone using a SIM eject tool (basically a pin pushed into hole in the body) these days

Re: SIM card serial number

Yup or bend a paperclip and do that. Just use the end.

Sure I did that many years ago.
