Roaming Charges

I’m now holidaying with my family in New Zealand (where it’s cool and raining!!), I am wondering if I use this iPhone on my son-in-laws WiFi for purely internet connections, text, WhatsApp, browser do I incur roaming charges?, or only call charges if I use it as a phone.

The other option, I brought with me an old iPhone made sim free (same service provider as current phone) would it be better to to use a NZ sim in that instead?
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: Roaming Charges

you only incur charges if you use the mobile data - if you're in roaming mode and attach to wifi you shouldn't incur any roaming charges.
Are you on PN for mobile?

Re: Roaming Charges

Top tip, switch roaming to off on your UK phone, get a local PAYG sim with as much data that you think you will need and put that in your spare phone. Set it up as a WiFi hotspot, connect your UK phone to that when you don't have access to any free WiFi.

Worked for me on my last trip to Aus.
