Riots in France

No that unusual to hear of protests in France supported by a large number of people but this particular protest which in some cases has turned into riots is not lead by any particular group.

The main issue is the proposed rise in fuel duty but is that just the tip of the iceberg as some of those involved and interviewed were just as concerned about rising prices in general

Re: Riots in France

We got caught by them last weekend trying to leave Dunkirk. We were trapped in the port for over an hour, while the Police just looked on and did nothing. Eventually we got to the motorway to be held to a 30kmh crawl all the way to the Belgian border. Talking to a protester, apparently, fuel tax is due to go up another 6% in January, on top of the 20% or so put on already this year by Macron, trying to get people off dirty fuel!! We also got caught in a queue for a impromptu protest on the way back on the Monday, but we managed to get out of that and went to Calais instead.

Re: Riots in France

Macron is so unpopular at the moment, he has failed miserably at everything except siding with Merkel ( dead woman walking) against UK. There will be many more riots in France, best thing they can do is get rid of macron.
