Re: Rik Mayall has died

Shocked and saddened to learn this, The New Statesman and Filthy, Rich and Catflap and Bottom were favourites, a great comedian...RIP

Re: Rik Mayall has died

Very sad, indeed.
Young Ones was a favourite during the early eighties. Was there really only 12 episodes? There was talk of a film for a few years but never came to fruition. Alan B'Stard - I think many could relate to him Wink
Anyone remember Kevin Turvey? Very funny one man show Grin
Drop Dead Fred was a great film, too.
Will be missed. Sad

Who could forget the investigatititive reporter from somewhere near Birmingham. I wonder what Kevin would have made of Facebook?
As students, The Young Ones was our must see ( on Steve's tiny little black and white Russian portable  )  TV. We had a real pRick in our student house - a communist activist virgin poet - which proves just how well obeserved Rik Mayall's characterisation was. And later, even though Alan B'Stard was a clear stab in the direction of Thatch the Tories, I believe that somehow Rik Mayall had managed to anticipate Tony Blair.
A great loss of a character actor and beloved character.
I guess this time he got to meet the real Death, and not just Eddy on stilts.
