Re: Plusnet Rollout Schedule

What rollout for who?
Am I going to see a man outside running up the road with a reel of fibre optic cable unravelling that he's just attached to the Okrz residence?

When's this work happening?
Tonight and early tomorrow morning, 23rd November.
What does it affect?
Access to our website and some of our internal systems.
How long will it take?
Up to seven hours.
What does the work involve?
We're making some back-end system changes in preparation for a number of up and coming projects. We will also be revamping our Service Status pages and rolling out some fixes for known problems we've been working on.
Am I likely to notice the work?
Our website will be unavailable during the maintenance window and holding pages will be in place. Our support staff will only have limited access to our internal systems whilst the work is carried out.
Is there anything else I need to know?
No
Kind Regards,
Bob Pullen

Re: Plusnet Rollout Schedule

So is this why we can't connect via router today? - I've had to splash out on the dongle...

okrzynska, one site's downtime should not affect the entire web.  you should be able to surf the rest of the internet.

Re: Plusnet Rollout Schedule

Yes I'm aware of that but last time PN said it 'shouldn't' affect anything there were lots of complaints.
Besides.. today our phone number changed. Chris was supposed to personally deal with himself and as the above quote states PN staff will have very limited access to their own systems - IE Unable to do jack with our account (like change the phone number) because they can't access it. All these little 'shouldn't affect it' things can still trigger other things to go wrong. Bet you hadn't thought of that had you Wink
Nice of PN to let us know about this in advance. PN and BT .. no longer good to talkHuh.
