Re: Postal Vote

There is (or should be) also instructions on what to do - if not, contact your local Returning Officer.

Re: Postal Vote

My mum has registered, I am seeing her later today so will ask if she has hers.
I only did a Postal Vote once when I as at Uni as I was living away from home, quite a few years ago now.

Re: Postal Vote

My nearest post box is 50 metres to the East.

My Polling Station is 70 metres to the West.

I'll take advantage of the exercise and go to the Polling Station.

Re: Postal Vote

I'm quite lucky where I live (I'm about a 40 minute walk from my parents).
Mine is a 5 minute walk, to the nearest pub car park where they have a temporary Polling Station put there.

Quite convenient, and I can have a bit of refreshment afterwards as seems rude not to as I am there Smiley

Re: Postal Vote

Mine is one of those Portakabin type things in the car park, so I don't have far to get there, or get home Smiley
Oh dear, one of those days I'll be watching the TV until silly o'clock at night.

I do this with the Olympics, Paralympics and General Elections - yes I can record it but not the same when the chances are you'll find out what has happened in the morning. Prefer to watch it live, I did that with the EU referendum. Laugh

Re: Postal Vote

I did that with the Scottish referendum. Was a tense night/morning.

You mean put a cross beside the Labour candidate and then pray for forgiveness.

Re: Postal Vote

My Polling Station is the local library - 10-15 minutes gentle stroll, but because I tend to be away from home when they have had elections previously, I use the postal option.

If there was an option of either/or, I would use the library and get a bit of exercise, but as I have a half hour walk a couple of times a day (unless it's raining cats & dogs), I get that anyway.

Re: Postal Vote

Up till recently, I used to work as a poll clerk, but the hours are long and the pay is very poor.
