Re: Post Brexit

Also noted that all Labour leader contenders voted against the Bill.

What a pathetic pile of turds.

Regardless of our opinions or how we think they should have to vote, we need to remember that they stood in an open election with a manifesto, and it was on the back of the manifesto they were carrying, that they were voted in.

So it is only normal to see them voting in a manner that is in accordance with those pedges which resulted in them being voted in.
I mean them now changing what they stand up for and vote for following pledges made, would be like BJ now telling us "actually hold up, I have had a think and I think we should have another national vote on whether you want to go ahead with my deal or just stay ok guys". It was not what he pledged was it.

Either way the seperation agreement is done and dusted and comes into effect in 20 days, 11 hours and 31 minutes leaving future trade up for discussion moving forward.

As far as I could see labour were firmly on the fence over Leaving EU, in fact their leader was neutral 🤣

They did promise to 'renegotiate a better deal' ( ie stay in single market, stay in customs union and carry on with free movement = BRINO ) and to put that deal to the public in another vote as well as allowing the UK to break up by promising the wee ginger Krankie another 'once in a lifetime' indyref ...

If they are to have any chance of getting into government they need to see the way the wind is blowing and cut out the 'we will rejoin the EU' ( Jess Phillips ) and we will campaign to stay in EU ( Keir Starmer ).

Re: Post Brexit

A good video showing our national treasure Jacob Reese-Mogg speeking at Oxford Union about 2-1/2 years before the membership referendum in 2016.  Just shows up the EU uneasy and strange relationship with democracy.

Re: Post Brexit

Now the dust has settled - and if Im still here in a few years to see it, I reckon the only difference leaving the EU is going to make is political. Econmically we'll be pretty much the same of not better free as we will be from the dictates of the Brussels brigade.

Also looking forward to trying out some of the chlorinated chicken @RobC used to bang on about.  🤣

I can just imagine him spitting feathers somewhere over the 'second referendum' General Election result!  Funny

Re: Post Brexit

Brexit Bill passed without a single Labour vote in favour.

Proof if needed that the election was a second referendum, and proof if needed that Corbyn and his 'democratic socialists' bootlickers had no intention of honouring the will of the majority.

Two faced scum bags the lot of 'em.

For now maybe, for winds obey their own agenda and as has been said. "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going."

Whilst from peagmatism accepting the need for our country to get on with negotiations, I cannot accept the absolute certainty of some, that in no circumstance could something major happen to change the nation's path. It is foolish to think otherwise.

The Italian Autostrada bridge collapse; how many chose to continue driving over the gap?

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

@RobPN  Of course that cannot be discounted; my position may not. Smiley

Re: Post Brexit

I see the BBC are also covering this, so it must be true!

Seriously though, this is not the first time he done this sort of thing and high time he played by the same rules as the MP's. Why his expenses are not capped in the same way is simply outrageous.

Time for change under the new Speaker seems to be the 'order order' of the day.
