Post Brexit

Post Brexit and all that goes with it along with a new Conservative government, is liberalism now in the firing line.

Those afraid to speak louder have already started to turn up the volume over uncontrolled immigration legal or otherwise, political correctness, imposed cultural and religious changes, those EU Health and Safety directives and that biggest of all evils, home grown terrorism.

Had the UK become a 'soft touch roll over don't offend nation'?

I think it had m'self but then I'm an old school Socialist that regards Boris and Brexit as a means to and end, and the Conservatives as a five year caretaker government during which time this nation of ours will come to it's senses because as sure as eggs, neither France or Germany and more recently Sweden of all places refuse to digest liberalism and will vote Left or Right depending on the wind direction.

New and interesting times ahead as the Woke brigade takes a back seat and those Snowflakes start to melt thats for sure.

Re: Post Brexit

NeoLiberals have done their utmost to destroy nation states and freedom of speech,  but they have been sussed by voters as the maniacs that they really are,  even women, who traditionally are more liberal in their voting have seen the damage virtue signalling liberals are doing,  the result is Trump and Johnson now in power.

Re: Post Brexit

I guess that history shows us that few things ever remain stable, they gradually swing to the right or left but then comes a tipping point where the majority feel so badly affected things then go the other way, sadly the tipping point usually includes violence with the innocent suffering the most...such is the way of things.....if you want to know the future look at the past.

@wotsup

You read some interesting stuff.

Re: Post Brexit

Indeed! But I am horrified that anyone, as is suggested in one of those articles, should desire to remove the voting franche from women. The record of us males has been far from good in keeping peace over the centuries.

IMHO anyone accepting such an idea and others that would curtail rights and freedoms of others is certainly not of the modern world; more suited to the medieval or islamism.

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

@Luzern

Quite right, with more women on board just think of all the money we'd save with lower wage bills.

Brilliant. 😉

Re: Post Brexit

Insanity affects allsorts, and whoever came up with that is nuts, and still would be were they supporting leave. Even as a resigned get on with life Remainer, that's what I think.

Goin back a bit now, I can recall some extreme evangelical Christians claiming that the Treaty of Rome meant the Common Market was a conspiracy encouraged by the Roman Catholic church to destroy protestantism.

Re: Post Brexit

I'm reading from a link that Corbyn has tabled an amendment to the EU Withdrawal Bill that would extend the transition period until 2023. He cannot be serious!

The beaten just don't know when to stay down.

It would not surprise me,  Catholics have been trying to destroy 'those upstart protestants' from time immemorial.  I still believe that the reason the EU played hardball with UK over Ireland is that they were  pushing for a united Ireland where the catholic faith could flourish.  Most of Europe and the EU is catholic and they have never forgiven Henry VIII for breaking way.

Re: Post Brexit

When you read the history of some religions that have existed for centuries it’s amazing that anyone follows them.

Modern communication has allowed anyone to access things that would have been covered up years ago.

It was more important to protect the church than protect children.....some religion !

Re: Post Brexit

@wotsup Admittedly there are problems in the Roman Church, typical of any large people facing organisation. I wonder, if somehow celibacy lies in the offences' occurrences.

The attitudes of the people I mentioned harked backwards only, but  now there is much co-operation between the sides in things that really matter--- human welfare.

Sorry, but I happen to believe that two penguins walked all the way from Antarctica to the Middle East to get into an Ark. 😂
