Plusnet on the telly

In case people haven't read it elsewhere
Plusnet sponsored  TV weather starts this morning at 11:26 and they would like us to stream it to makeit  the highest ever day that ITVPlayer has seen on the Plusnet network and if possible the highest day that ITVPlayer has ever seen.

On;y trouble is it seems to need Microsoft Silverlight !. And I'm not installing that.
Why can't they just use Flash like other people ........... Sad

Re: Plusnet on the telly

Can I watch it live instead then, I can get it Via Freesat (The only regional ITV is London at Chan 977), or if you have a Free to Air sat receiver all ITV channels are available

You use the links in the topic discussing it here instead to view a flash version.
Mal, the flash versions are also available in the NDA sections of PUG.

Re: Plusnet on the telly

Yes thanks James - but I wanted to help booste the streaming figures - but it seems ITV only use Silverlight ?
Why can the broadcast industry just get together and agree an open standard format  Angry

Re: Plusnet on the telly

Of course you can watch it live on the Croydon transmitter - I'm sure with all thos antenna's you have you can receive it.
But the who point is that the PN guys want us to stream it ! - and that is all I could do in Scotland.

Check their results PP.  it's one of the fastest growing insurance companies on the market.  I rather like the ads Smiley

Re: Plusnet on the telly

Unlike me - I'm still in the dark ages with TV - I don't watch much at all - so don't have satellite at all. I was never going to sign up to news International channel ( Sky) and have never got around to getting FreeSat  Sad
But just typical of the broadcasters to transmit the London area weather and news online.
The BBC are just as bad - they transmit London area news on News24.
The sooner they move most of the BBC to Manchester the better.

Re: Plusnet on the telly

WHY does Plusnet want us to stream it? I would have thought  the advertiser (Plusnet) would have  to pay ITV more the more times the advert is viewed.
I have seen the ad pre-broadcast and have no wish to see it again.
