Plusnet Hold Music

I am going to go for Eric Johnston - Cliffs of Dover
It really sounds quite good on hold!
In fact, try it (01382 848144) and the DSCentral system will put you on hold to it..
Dont worry, thats all it does, its the number i use for testing the flows within the system. Call it from with-held if its better!
But hold once connected to let the song get started, its a catchy tune!

Re: Plusnet Hold Music

I had the pleasure of calling one of our support numbers yesterday to speak to one of my team mates.
I got caught short unfortunatly, singing aloud

Obligatory poll added. If there's enough PMs regarding a music style I'll add it to the list.

Re: Plusnet Hold Music

hmmm... Expanding on the idea in the blog comments of choosing your own hold music when you call, maybe PN could add a section to the portal where you can upload your own music then when you call from a registered telephone number, you get played that music - alternatively if you call from a different number being able to enter a code to have that music played.
yeh, I know not worth the dev time - but a cool idea IMHO.

Whooo, just like putting the song on at home, but you get to pay for it....
I'd prefer 'em to answer the phone a bit quicker Wink

Can we have Crazy Frog added to the list please?
By far the best idea ever generated to ensure low call queues Cheesy

Re: Plusnet Hold Music

My Team Manager went out and bought some new CD's yesterday. Some customers were indeed very angry at the Xmas music.

I hope you *don't* just go out and buy normal CDs in the shop to play - hold music has to be licensed. (Hence why you buy instumental versions of songs with the rights to play them included in the purchase fee.)

Re: Plusnet Hold Music

Don't think this is strictly true. What about instrumental only written tracks, ain't these protected under copyright.
If PN plays music in the reception or the employees play music in the offices perhaps PN has already purchased a PRS. If not information can be found here
I brought this to the attention of my company and they ignored it as they would have pleaded ignorance to the fact employees brought they own portable music centres in. But when these were then PAT tested and entered in the company's log I pointed out that they shoud reconsider a PRS. They did and it's not that expensive.
