LOL I was watching "Rookie Blue" the other week and they did the same thing with a car dealership - phoned/wrote saying you have won a new car  come and collect it, didn't think people were that stupid in RL  Wink

Reminds me of something I read about a few years ago where a US law enforcement agency created a fake competition and published a list of 'winners' and a location where large cash prizes could be claimed.
Many of the 'winners' were known wanted criminals and many allegedly turned up to lay claim to a prize and were promptly arrested.

Shouldn't the police be doing this sort of thing all the time and why advertise the fact.

Double edged sword. If they don't do it people will think they're sitting around doing nothing but chasing the motorist as an easy victim. I think its right the fuzz keep us informed about operations that are catching criminals.
