Pink Floyd, Super Group or Waste of Space

Pink Floyd are my favourite band of all time.
I have never seen them live and are never likely to but to me their music is timeless and spans generations.
I have been to see The Australian Pink Floyd Show, probably the best Floyd tribute band, at the Sheffield Arena and will be seeing them again in 2008....can't wait.
Aussie Floyd tour worldwide and fill arenas, a testament to the enduring appeal of the music of Pink Floyd and the musicianship of the band members.

Re: Pink Floyd, Super Group or Waste of Space

Just thought I would point out that the second and third options in the Poll do not refer to Waste of Space or The Who Wink

Top band, no doubt.
This reminds me of a 'discussion' on the same topic on my university newsgroup in about 1990. That got rather heated!

Comfortably Numb is THE track.
To watch it on the live Pulse DVD is an 'off the planet' experience.

Off the planet?  You mean like as if you were on the dark side of the moon?

You lot are giving me Brain Damage. How much Money would it take you to stop? One Of These Days you will all stop messing about - otherwise I swear it will be Absolutely Curtains for the lot of you! I have High Hopes that you will soon be Lost For Words otherwise it's The Fletcher Memorial Home for the lot of you.

Extra marks to anyone who can work "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict" (which has to be one of the best song titles ever) into the conversation Cool

Re: Pink Floyd, Super Group or Waste of Space

I’m still trying to get over it. I’m sure I don’t Remember A Day like it before. So, there was I with Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict, when suddenly Arnold Layne said ‘Got to go to the tennis, I promised to See Emily Play’. I hung about for a while kicking my heels and Biding My Time when I was suddenly teleported onto a passing spacecraft captained by a bloke who says his name is Eugene. He said he was heading to Cirrus Minor but didn’t know how to get there as he hadn’t got the latest update installed on his inter-galactic gps (galactic positioning system). He said ‘I’ll just head off past the Dark Side of the Moon and see how far we get, quick, Set your Controls to the Heart of the Sun’ and then he hit the Interstellar Overdrive and off we shot. I could tell things weren’t going well so I said ‘Now come on, put it down and be Careful With That Axe, Eugene’, but to no avail, he started smashing the controls up and we crashed down to Earth. I got out and I have to say it was lovely to Breathe In The Air again, things were a bit Obscured By Clouds for a while but then later I felt, well, Comfortably Numb....................
Hopefully not too bad for a luchtime effort
Rob
