Phone Hacking

Given that email, mobile phones and voice messaging are basically insecure, should the police be wasting time over phone hacking investigations?

I would have thought there were many more important things for them to deal with Undecided

Re: Phone Hacking

It's a high profile issue thats why they're dealing with it.

Re: Phone Hacking

Someone from the Police Committee (?) on TV lunchtime said that the public are really concerned about it.  More like lots of rich "celebs" are worried about it.  I don't think "the public" are bothered who listens in to a lot of rich peoples' conversations.  Lips are sealed

You have to remember that if they're doing it to celebs then they can it to us.  We don't know just who has had their phone tapped.

Just had a phone shop owner on BBC Essex
O2 and I think Vodo supply their phones with preset Pins for remote reading messages that are all the same, the comment was change your pin as soon as you get the phone

Re: Phone Hacking

Then its O2 and Voda's fault.
I'm fairly certain (but we are going back 14 years) that in order to remote-access my voicemail box on Orange I had to set a pin first after calling it from the handset the number was associated with.
I think it was still the same when I moved to T-mobile 5 years later.

Yes they can.. I wonder how they decide which unknown member of the public to target?
