Re: Paranoid Labour

You would in the case of the current Labour farce wonder if they are all members of the same party.
The Conservatives must be rubbing their hands with glee.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Quote
The PCS, which represents civil servants, is not affiliated to the Labour Party and is part of the Trade Union and Socialist Coalition, which stood against Labour candidates at the general election.

Seems fair enough even Labour can identify organisations not in sympathy with their aims, Also he had voted for Corbyn "surprise, surprise"

Re: Paranoid Labour

This is clearly an issue Labour never thought through, not uncommon, bit like the time they scrapped the 10p tax allowance or the consequences of getting involved in military action.

Re: Paranoid Labour

+1 artmo
Just goes to show that they are a party that is destroying itself. They have no chance of winning an election now (thankfully).

Re: Paranoid Labour

There are contradictions in the Labour party, they had three terms in office under Blair and then Brown (the longest ever) by being Conservative "lite". But now being "electable" seems to be a dirty word.  Huh

Re: Paranoid Labour

It seems to me their dilemma is a choice between a party with socialist ideals or one that would be elected. Having lived under a local government run by Ken Livingstone I have to say the socialist approach can work quite well, if you are prepared to tolerate one or two crazy schemes. It might need a wholesome purge of the Blairite factions who were just Chardonnay Socialists.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: Paranoid Labour

But what don't the activists in the Labour party understand from the result of the latest election. The British electorate want a centrist party, centre left or centre right. They don't listen they lost in a big way because they were perceived as too left now they are saying they weren't left enough  Crazy

Re: Paranoid Labour

Some of JC's ideas seem good but they are very simplistic and not thought through properly.
Many socialists feel let down by past Labour leaders and the MP's who supported them so they have an alternative in JC who offers completely different ideas to the other non hoper candidates.
His history shows he is completely genuine in his beliefs and is wise enough not to be critical of the other candidates despite their views about him.
So there is little doubt he will get elected but other MP's are already plotting to get rid of him.
In short I doubt we will ever see another Labour government in power again.

And that is a good thing but then your not left with much alternatives are you? the election just past was nothing short of a scam with Labour siding with the torys there wasn't much choice for those south of the border.
