PN Helen.. you've told us a big porky.

This on the PN community blog:

Now Helen, how is the new forum better? It's full of bugs, missing features, harder to use in many ways, slower on mobiles... The list is rather large.

So how is it better then?

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: PN Helen.. you've told us a big porky.

What?   does she not read the forum?   how about all the work that is going on to improve the "new improved" forum?    and even if that work is completed,.... what will it be called then  ? ? ?

Will we get another message....

"Welcome to the new improved, old new improved forum......... " Roll eyes

Re: PN Helen.. you've told us a big porky.

Any new or modified service or product is inevitably promoted as 'better', 'improved' etc - well the provider would hardly say otherwise would they?

Of course we all know that often it is not.

Re: PN Helen.. you've told us a big porky.

She is telling the truth.

After all it's new.

And it is improved.

She just left out the bit - it's improved for plusnet - not the actual forum users / customers.

Well, glad others see it to be so poor, I thought it was just me, less plus net staff involvement, only the regulars contributing.

Re: PN Helen.. you've told us a big porky.

In my opinion, the bugs have disappeared or at least resolved.

Or am I wrong?...

Re: PN Helen.. you've told us a big porky.

wrong.... when I want to reply to a thread, I get a message... " Secure Connection Failed..... Try again".. and have to Resend a couple of times before it will actually post it...

Others have had this too... but hey... its "new" because it never happened before, therefore it must be "improved" on the old forum.... !

Re: PN Helen.. you've told us a big porky.

I'm not having that issue :/

All the bugs that I encountered including the side bar view which took you to the profile instead of revelaing the side view has been resolved and also the authorisation error etc...

Re: PN Helen.. you've told us a big porky.

Yes, the old forum was much better, after all it had years of development and troubleshooting/debugging to get where it was, my favourite feature (missing here) was how you'd type a long post, click 'post' then wait...  and wait... and wait...

and wait...

then retype it because it all disappeared (or you thought it hadn't posted and you ended up posting it twice).

(/sarc)

I think the bugs here are being addressed and fixed fairly well thanks to some dedicated staff - I only hope such staff remain around once all the bugs are gone.

WRT FF46 no problems on Linux. I don't get the incompatible stuff.

Can't disagree with that.

But even if all the bugs were fixed on the "new and improved" forum it would still be a 2nd place also ran.

Re: PN Helen.. you've told us a big porky.

until plusnet fixes the constant stream of dns 500 errors their servers give off its unlikely the forums will start working right for many people anyway

just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you
