So my passport which I renewed some two years ago now has the wrong information on the cover. I wonder how long before EU customs start to play silly b's and refuse to recognise it.

Just imagine returning to Russia and being asked "what is this CCCP on the front of your passport comrade?" 😆

So with passports and the possible easing of lockdown, is anybody actually thinking about booking a holiday this year?
We had no plans to travel abroad this year but had thought of taking a run up north. Maybe best to wait until summer starts after that second injection has kicked in and try and find somewhere to stay as and when/where needed.

We booked a holiday in November for a week in Guernsey on July 8th thinking the lockdown was a one off, remains to be seen if it will still go ahead but at least Guernsey is not in the EU.

Nice.🙂
You put second home in inverted commas so...
No second home f'me, but I do have a tool shed just in case the Mrs kicks me out!
Never been to the any of the channel islands other than flying over them on my way to Brittany, but something I have never considered is if I ever did visit, do you need a passport. Daft question perhaps but considering it's so near France it might be something you'd need.

@Minivanman I call it my 'second home' as I spend maybe 9/12 weeks there per year. It is actually my 'other half's' home - and don't ask for the expected explanation, it's a bit complicated. 😀

The Channel Islands are part of the common travel area, just like the Republic of Ireland, and require visitors to produce photo ID. A driving licence should suffice but if you have a passport, take it; there can be no argument over whether a valid British passport is valid ID. The airline will also need you to identify yourself.

The last time I was there...............
If you wanted to hire a car they asked to see your passport.

weirdly i got a email from nhs yesterday saying i was being moved onto the extremely vulnerable shielding list (due to a combination of health issues) and by now i should have received my first vaccination or soon would.
2 seconds later, doctors called me to ask if i want a vaccination!, so tomorrow afternoon im getting astra zeneca jab (i was offered choice, but dates were further away for pfizer). Wondering once i have second jab to then book holiday as may know more then.

All the best @futurenet hope it all goes well.
I've been to Jersey and Gurnsey years ago, my dad used to ask me on suggestions on where to go. Yes I enjoyed it and had a good time. My best holiday was Sydney in Australia. Cor I would love to go back there, but of course with the fun and games of what are going on, it is hardly a good idea.
"Oh Well", as Fleetwood Mac said.
