A normal dummy but from a distance quite realistic

Re: Our new speed calming device "SID"

these ones are better, fairly close to USAAF Mildenhall and Lakenheath and they had the genuine items in their Holsters - dont argue with them

Re: Our new speed calming device "SID"

Hopefully it works better than the SIDs in the two villages along from us...
As you drive along the 50mph section to the village, before you even reach the 30mph fixed road sign they are flashing at you to slow down.

Shame it's not a camera or one could make a joke about exposure time  Cool

Near to here, there is a "scarecrow" made of straw, that has the yellow jacket, and a speed gun, looks quite realistic first time you see it.... !...
I have also seen a (poor) fake speed camera sticking out from someone`s overhanging wall....  (Just a wooden box painted a similar shade of yellow to the real thing) !

Essex Police often park a police car near the roundabout of the M11 and A414.  Certainly slows drivers down.

Five gatsos in that area and seven mobile cameras (inactive)  and one active mobile  Not a place to speed with or without the car  Plus Essex has several Q cars, like Black Vauxhall

The APR/ speed check van is also used in the area.  Often parked at the BP station.  Gets motorists attention - if only they knew that it isn't working.  It is left in the local police station car park and they deploy it as a deterrent in the area.

Certainly unusual... I'll bet it gives a few speeders a fright Smiley
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: Our new speed calming device "SID"

An ANPR van is Automatic Number Plate Recognition and normally has two windows on the rear, or if parked on an overbridge the camera is through a side window
this is a speed camera one I got in Peterlee Co Durham last year, note the open window as the speed camera work via Lazar
