Open Farm Sunday 13 June 2010

If you have small children, (or just like animals) there is a Nationwide event on Sunday....
Take them to a farm, and show them where the food they eat comes from...!...
You can find a farm near you by entering your full post code on this page....
http://www.farmsunday.org/ofs/visit/findfarm.eb
Enjoy the countryside..... and remember "take away  your rubbish and your memories...... leave behind only foot prints on the grass" !

Thanks for the link Shutter.  I didn't realise there were so many farms in my area.

Re: Open Farm Sunday 13 June 2010

@Shutter:- Good link, thanks.
It’s the time of year for sheep dog trials, well worth a visit, fascinating what they can get sheep dogs to do these days:
A Derbyshire farmer is curious to know how many sheep he has in his field, so he asks his sheepdog to count them.
The dog runs into the field, counts them, and then runs back to the farmer.
“So," says the farmer. "How many were there?"
"50," replies the dog.
"That cannot be correct" says the farmer. "I only bought 47!"
"I know," says the dog. "But I rounded them up."

As this thread has become rather wooly, an old schoolboy joke (think Yorkshire):
Q. Where do sheep do their shopping?
A. Baa-rnsley Market!
johpal exits, sheepishly...  Roll eyes
