Olympic Opening Ceremony

Details have been released on the opening ceremony for the London Olympics.  It's directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) and looks quite interesting.

The opening scene of the £27m ceremony will be called "Green and Pleasant", artistic director Danny Boyle revealed.

Re: Olympic Opening Ceremony

More accurate:
45 days til London transport grinds to a halt (Commuter Hell the likes of which have never been seen before)
61 days til London recovers (usual Commuter Hell will resume - and we'll all be grateful)

Re: Olympic Opening Ceremony

I would really like to see the whole event go off flawlessly (honest) But I have this nagging feeling that a fiasco is more likely, mostly because its being held in the wrong place with some of the worst of travel problems to overcome. One major motorway accident near Heathrow could well bring the whole of London to a grinding halt. It pretty well does now, what it will be like with Olympic traffic doesn't bare thinking about.

Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

I think Danny Boyle will do a good job.  Rehearsals are in full swing, currently in Dagenham.

Re: Olympic Opening Ceremony

Speaking of helicopters, I hear that the local HEMS emergency helicopter stations not too far away at Whitechapel is not allowed to land in the Olympic Stadium because of the sponsor (Virgin) branding on the outside of the helicopter. Explain that one to the man with the heart attack.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.
