I really don't think that's such a bad thing?

Re: Oh dear, what will the government think of next?

Wish they'd introduce a law to make it illegal for owners to turn out their cats at night as I'm sick of being woken up by next dorr's in the small hours when I have to get up early for work by it rolling down the roof of our extension.
I did not choose to have a cat or any sort of pet, they did and I should not have it inflicted upon me!
Cats found out at night should be impounded.

I think that's excellent. With a clear expectation of the standard of care required it will make it easier to prosecute those who don't care for their pets correctly.

So under Techguy's Britain, all catflaps will be outlawed.
Do me a favour!
I appreciate that it's probably a bit of a pain to hear the cats wailing, but to impound them all?!
You don't have any cats do you? Smiley

How very perceptive James  Smiley
I'm guessing you dont work shifts or live anywhere with low roofs?
My point is, having a pet is a personal choice, so what gives you the right to inflict your choice on others?
Lets face it, people turn the cat out because they don't want it to disturb them at night so Tiddles is free to go and annoy someone else.

I don't agree with that at all.
I don't believe that the majority of cat owners "turn out" their cats at night.  Cats are nocturnal, so it's natural for them to venture outside during the nights if there's a catflap, which most outdoor cat owners will have.
Ultimately, if you work nightshifts, you're less likely to be impacted by cats being out in the nights anyway Cheesy

Then you just get the sound of them fighting  Sad
But I agree people should learn to look after animals - you see some horror stories on Animal Rescue type programmes.

I hope they don't make it illegal to eat cats that stray off their owners' properties.
