Nurburgring Nordschleif

Just renewed my Car insurance with Churchill and they included a leaflet regarding changes to the policy.
One of these changes states.......We will not cover any injury, loss or damage or liability whilst your car is being driven on the Nurburgring Nordschleif.
Not that I am ever likely to be driving my car abroad but I wonder if this is the first time that an insurance company has refused to provide cover on a named road ?

Re: Nurburgring Nordschleif

had to look it up:- http://nurburgring.org.uk/beginners.php
First, don't contemplate a trip there unless you're happy with the risks. This is a dangerous road, and serious accidents are an everyday occurrence. The Ring is especially dangerous for bikers, and I strongly recommend that bikers drive the Ring in a car first. See my warning page for more details of the risks.

Re: Nurburgring Nordschleif

Is this the same track that Top Gear have used in some of their episodes including, high speed runs in a Transit van?
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Done it once, given it is an uncontrolled road, although private, got round OK

Re: Nurburgring Nordschleif

just showing off, Montlhery is used by several companies for testing
http://www.millbrook.co.uk/Page/Home has a chequered history, General Motors, Lotus, then as a separate company, I have pases for all, bit out of date  The banked circle is 2 mile and fast
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Millbrook,+Bedford,+Central+Bedfordshire,+United+Kingdom&oe=utf-8&cl...
the other one the lets more in is the Fiat track track near Taranto in Italy 12 KM banked, but not highly  possible to lap at over 200 MPH
