Number conventions

When typing I normally write the numbers 1 to 10 as text; one, two, etc and numbers over 10 as numericals.
But it seems that, officially, the convention is much more complicated than that:

Do you think it makes any difference? Is it easier to read when you stick to the above rules? I tend to believe it is.

Interesting those rules!
I generally follow the same rule Mav depending on whether it is a formal/informal situation!
