Now that`s a good number plate!

I have just returned from a brief foray into the outside world to replenish supplies of bread and milk. Whilst traversing the local highways and byways, to the trading post some 2 miles away, I encountered a small commercial vehicle which bore the name of the company upon its outer surfaces. The name of the company, I presume was a one man operation, however it was "Gascare".  the name, presumably representing the type of business being carried out.
The number plate on the vehicle, also summed up the business too
GA55 BAG    Cheesy Grin
How many (new type) number plates can you recall that represented the owner in such a way.
(Not counting the "old style"  COM 1C etc etc.)

Re: Now that`s a good number plate!

We went to a car showroom yesterday and one on a vauxhall corsa spelt out Sexy in amongst the letters and numbers.
We thought that was amusing Smiley

A friend of mine who is a gas man also strangely enough has the plate:
RU55 GAS  (his name is Russ)
Also on my way to the Derby this weekend there was his guy going up and down the road in his big red Ferrari......his plates read:
WOO55H (cant remember the actual plate but it was similar)

Re: Now that`s a good number plate!

Sometimes one does wonder whether the DVLA miss the obvious.
I was once driving thro' Ashworth in Herts when a Merc coupe went the other way - I really did a double take at PEN15. Former finance director of Pipex lived in Ashworth and Barny confirmed that plate was well known to locals.
Wonder if there were any 55 plates issued starting PI.
When I drove a lot in Central London I saw a lot of cherished plates.
NCB1 was on a Coal Board van. VO5 on Chanel van, VIP1 on VW Golf and one I really liked was UR12 on a Porche.

A car up the road to me is CAR 51X  he has had the plate since new and has had several changes of car, I wonder how much Kwells travel pills would pay for it
In Austria there are a lot of personal plates, the Hotel transport  where I used to stay in Zell Am Zee was Zell 1,  I say LOTUS, and ZEPHER, got photos of the Zell And Zep, easy to get one of CAR

Re: Now that`s a good number plate!

British Oxygen Company, had a plant near Wembley (NW London) and had a series of BOC number plates. One might have expected the MD or chairman to have BOC 1, but no, it was a complete lottery, the last time I saw it a good number of years ago BOC 1 was on a rather shabby (BOC) Escort van. I've no idea if they still use these registrations, or even if BOC still exists as such.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

I'm not sure. The Register ran a story last year about the number of potential registrations the DVLA had binned for the nn57 prefix.
You can read the story here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/07/30/dvla_filth_banned/

Ford Motor Co did have FMC 1, dont know if they still do, Essex County Council have had F 1 since it was issued, just sold it for a small fortune.

Re: Now that`s a good number plate!

My very first car just happened to have an interesting plate, though it never occured to me at the time as I got it secondhand. It was an early 1959 Austin Seven (Mini Mk I) reg XAJ 21 and I expect has long gone to the rust-bucket in the sky.

Slightly off topic - how about this for a sign of inflexible silly officials
