I was never into his type of humour but my parents loved him.

Re: Norman Wisdom R.I.P.

My dad always said he was in the army with him. No way of verifying that though.
What is not so well know; Norman Wisdom was a good all-round musician as well, and had a nice if not great singing voice having a minor hit with "Don't laugh at me (cos' I'm a fool)"
Grew up with his films, greatly enjoyed them then but, they don't really appeal nowadays.
He'll be sadly missed by many.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: Norman Wisdom R.I.P.

I saw a clip last night of when he went to the Palace to get knighted (or whatever it is called)
When he was walking up to the front he did his comedy trip and the Queen was in stitches laughing.
Norman Wisdom was in that small group of people who could make me smile as soon as I saw him. Tommy Cooper and Spike Milligan were in the same group.

Wisdom, Formby, Laurel, Hardy and Lewis, the people I grew up with (in the 80's), Widsom and Formby will always be my favourites.
