Nomophobia

Do you suffer from nomophobia ?
Definitions...
1. The fear of being out of mobile phone signal range.
2. The anxiety relating to the sudden loss of a mobile phone connection.

I don't.
But I think the PM does !

Re: Nomophobia

Never having heard the term before I Googled it and got this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/10267574/Nomophobia-affects-majority-of-UK.html
No I don't suffer from it even on the rare occasion when my mobile is switched on

Re: Nomophobia

I don't, although for personal/family reasons I always have my phone with me.
If I ain't got a signal, I ain't got a signal and there's not a lot I  can do about it.

Re: Nomophobia

No signal for data or phone - an inconvenience. Fearing it, nahhhhh.
I managed for 37 years without a mobile device so pretty sure I can manage once more Wink

Re: Nomophobia

There's no mobile phone signal at our orchard due the shape of the terrain. At least that's what I tell the missus.  It's a bit like my phone is turned off when I'm working there. Bliss.

Re: Nomophobia

I never leave home without the phone but I only look at it when I'm bored waiting around for something/someone

Re: Nomophobia

Neither do I, nanotm - but I  only look at it if it rings - my phone is a phone, not a min-pc. Smiley

Re: Nomophobia

my lot like to say a meeting time and then show up 10.20 mins late, if I haven't got something to do I might get annoyed and then refuse to go out in future .....

Re: Nomophobia

I personally don't worry about mobile coverage unless I am using my 3G dongle. At all other times.. well i managed without it before right?!

Re: Nomophobia

I'm waiting for some new glasses so I have to squint a bit to read the screen. I misread  the title as "Nanophobia" which is of course the fear of tiny robots.

BBC Country File
Interesting item on Rural Mobile Phone Coverage

We have very low and intermittent Mobile Phone signal strength where we live in Derbyshire.
Certain Rooms / Windows have better quality signal, as does being outside !!
Different Networks... Different Rooms !

Re: Nomophobia

We live in a 'NotSpot', can't count the number of time I've answered the door to "There's no phone signal" (no "good morning" or "can you help me").
Suggestions for a suitable reply would be appreciated...................something that will make the person laugh or at least smile Roll eyes
