No internet at all ?

Lets just say a massive storm wipes out the worlds broadband and everyone no longer has any access to it ( just for fun so please play along Wink ).
How long would it take for your withdrawal syndrome to kick in ?
What would you do to prevent yourself from hallucinations ?
The internet plays a big part in all of our lives, without it how would we manage...

Re: No internet at all ?

I think a storm that big would wipe out most of civilisation and much of the population anyway, sounds a good idea for an online RPG though!  Cheesy
Not so much the withdrawal as the loss of email, online banking, other online bill payments etc. that we come to rely on.  BTW do Amazon do mail order via snailpost?

Re: No internet at all ?

It's this rule:
Quote
Use of Quotes
Quotes can be a very useful way of making your reply to a post clearer by indicating which post or part of a post you are referring to.
However using them incorrectly can be annoying and make threads very hard to read.
The following rule applies to the use of quotes.
Only quote the full content of a post if :-
a) it is NOT the post immediately before your reply

My bold for clarity.
It generally makes the posts more readable if less unnecessary quotes are used (though the space saved can easily be filled up by moderators notes in some cases  Grin ), don't forget, though, the moderators notes are there to 'educate' other readers too and they're allowed to appear a bit pedantic, it's deinitely nothing personal.
Some forums are so stacked full of of multi-level quotes that they are really difficult to follow and take for ever to scroll through.

I like to think of it as a face to face conversation.
How strange would it be if each person repeated what the other had said before giving their reply Huh

Re: No internet at all ?

Strat it is not that strange at all cos I used to know someone whom did just that and would wind me up something chronic...
