No escape

Newspapers and television have already started to give far too much space and time to  politicians prattlening on about their election manifesto's and we are going to get an increasing amount of this rubbish (or lies) until the day of the election followed by weeks of analysis.
Is there any practical way of avoiding being exposed to this rubbish other than going abroad for the next 6 months ?
Something I would consider doing if the funds allowed.

Re: No escape

Change the channel/stop reading the online reports Wink
I agree , though, and it's going to get considerably worse the nearer we get to election day.

Re: No escape

How about the moderators create a politics sub-forum so we can keep Chit Chat an election free zone?

Re: No escape

I've not been exposed to any of it, but I don't read newspapers and any TV is on demand these days.

Re: No escape

Strangely when it comes to elections i kind of turn off and let it all go over my head. Rather odd considering i get very wound up by politicians and their antics for the rest of the governments term in office.
One thing is for sure, i hope this lot don't get back in again. I hate labour too but at least if we switch back to them and the lib dems it will kick the tories out and show them all that we're not taking their antics lightly.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Except I won't!
I don't vote either, so no grounds to complain

Re: No escape

I was away for the last election and I was peeved as my postal vote never came through even though I requested it long in advance. The whole last 5 years may have been so different Wink
There's a good chance the same will happen this year Sad
Edit: Just downloaded the Postal Application form, completed it and will send tomorrow.
