I think you'll find it's in No Mans Land, that the notherners use to protect themselves from suvners  Roll eyes

It's definitely North if you have the misfortune to live in the concrete cow town (quick bit of searching on the net will let you know where that is if you dont know already)

It's is no mans land, I live in the middle (Cov) of it, work in the smoke and call Yorkshire home.  I've had the misfortune of visiting Milton Keynes once or twice and it's slap in the middle of no mans land

Re: No Mans Land

Londoner's think that Watford Gap (nowhere near Watford) marks the division between North & South.
I'm pleased that Milton Keynes lies in the buffer zone.
My home county of Derbyshire is then definitely Northern.  Smiley

Re: No Mans Land

As an exiled Yorkshireman, (born in York), that was dragged up in Leicester,  also having resided in about 40 different cities, towns and villages in the U.K  (incl Scotland & Wales) currently residing near Portsmouth.
I have definite views about North/south
The northern border of Derbyshire, represents the Southern boundary of  "Up North"....
EDIT
This bit is in the middle, therefore it is called "the midlands"  !
End of Edit

The southern border of Oxfordshire represents the Northern bounday of "Darn Sarf"
The West country starts somewhere near the western edge of Dorset, and Kent, & Essex are sub areas of London.together with Herts & Bucks.
The bit below Oxford , Hampshire and Sussex are "central Southern England, Kent & Essex are sometimes known as South East England.
The fens is East Anglia, and Lincolnshire.
Scotland is always "North of the Border"
and Wales is the most beautiful part of the United Kingdom, and if I win enough money, I will buy it for myself !   Smiley Smiley Grin

Re: No Mans Land

I would let them rule themselves, they are quite capable of doing so.... I just want the most beautiful garden, and Wales seems to fit the bill !  Cheesy

'scuse me, Watford (Hertfordshire) is NOT near London...fortunately
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.
