New highway code laws for driver-less cars in th UK

There is British technology, and it’s a lot cheaper than the Google technology.
[quote= http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2652056/New-laws-drawn-allow-driverless-cars-Britains-roads-race-develop-transport-future.html]New laws are to be drawn up to allow driverless cars to take to Britain’s roads.
Ministers admit the current Highway Code and rules of the road are inadequate for the new generation of vehicles which pilot themselves.
With technology being developed on both sides of the Atlantic, the government wants to ensure that Britain is not overtaken by Google’s drive to see its cars used legally on the streets of California.

An amendment agreed last month would allow a car to drive itself, as long as the system 'can be overridden or switched off by the driver'.

Have you been fortunate to have been in a driverless pod at Heathrow to Terminal 5 ?Huh
& what was your initial thoughts V's your experience ?Huh

If the government don`t want to be "over taken"  (  Grin Grin )by Google Drive... they only have to pass a law saying it is illegal to have a "driverless" vehicle on british roads......... simples  Roll eyes

From the GOV site.......

    Home
    Driving and transport
    The Highway Code
Using the road (159 to 203)

stay in your lane if traffic is moving slowly in queues. If the queue on your right is moving more slowly than you are, you may pass on the left

It is legal to overtake any BMW on either side, providing it just whizzed past you and is stuck in a queue.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.
