New Year's 'Honours'

Well the list is out and yet again dominated by those that generate headlines rather than actually contribute to society although of course with exceptions of course.
I know most are decided by Gordo and cronies and I often wonder what the list would look like if it was Her Majesty that decided.
Do you think it would be dominated by sports 'stars'? I wonder what she thinks of the list?
I think all these 'stars' were nominated in a vain attempt to make us feel good about the 2012 Olympic rip-off.

And your evidence for that is.....
(there's supposed to be an independent committee that makes the recommendations)

This link shows the make-up of the committee that decides the honours list.

Re: New Year's 'Honours'

apologies for the delay in my response, few glasses of alcoholic beverages, sleep got in the way  Smiley
Now I read the following (and I shall read the other links posted) and came up with the following question, why does the cabinet office/PM have anything at all to do with it?

I'm afraid I have a deep rooted mistrust of the lot we have in at the minute and have done so ever since Phoney Blair came into office before I was eligable to vote.
Personally, I'd rather have John Major back as PM.

Re: New Year's 'Honours'

Yeah yeah, still think he was a better PM than the current occupant of No. 10
