New PC Frustration

Some of you may know I have a new W7 64 bit PC coming today via City Link.
Just after lunch the City Link van arrived outside...lovely Smiley
I watched him come down the path with a small City Link bag in his hand....Hmmm Undecided
I said to him "there should be two items"..."there are two items in the bag" he said Roll eyes
"But there should be a larger box" said I. "Dunno" he said.
Nothing else to do but take the bag and examine the contents.
On opening the bag I find a keyboard and mouse box and a motherboard box Shocked Have I bought a construction kit Undecided
An email to the suppliers revealed that the motherboard box contained the W7 DVD, motherboard manual and assorted sundries.
The PC had been 'mis-sorted' by City Link and would be delivered tomorrow.
Another day hanging around at home Roll eyes

Re: New PC Frustration

You're lucky to get W7 on a DVD. Most other plebs get it loaded on a disk division, say thanks for small mercies.

Re: New PC Frustration

Actually, you should make sure the DVD you have relates to machine you receive if it comes pre-loaded (product key etc) On the other hand you may get another copy, then make a profit by selling the first one.

Re: New PC Frustration

I have a retail version of W7 Professional which is installed on my retiring PC. I've not decided what to do with that yet.

Re: New PC Frustration

Let's start a poll on whether Strat's pc arrives today  Roll eyes
Hope it arrives as I remember how frustrated I got when my new Toshiba 17" laptop failed to arrive, for a few days, about 16 months ago.
Mustn't say too much as I made a good living, for 12 years, running urgent misrouted parcels all over the UK for a certain " Green" Sheffield based parcel company.
