Nasa Releases Dramatic New Sun Pictures 45 Second Video Link

The dramatic videos and images - 10 times clearer than high definition TV - show giant flares and clouds of ionised gas erupting from the surface of the star.
One video captures a blast know as a coronal mass ejection, in which the same amount of material contained in the whole Mississippi River is ejected at one million miles per hour - in 30 seconds.
The images were taken by Nasa's Solar Dynamics Observatory.

Brilliant images.
I like that third one best, which I would assume is what you referred to in
your second paragraph.
Here`s a `still` of it :

So they keep saying: there`ll be a solar max in 2012.
I cant say I understand what thats about cause Ive not studied it.

Normally the sun runs in an eleven year cycle with respect to solar flairs, the high flairs causes Solar wind which again produces the Aurora Borealis and disrupts Radio Propagation

First time ive saw something so dramatic, and to think of the scale, it does not look like much on a screen but that is really quite impressive.
