Re: Move House of Lords

I wouldn't have thought they would get a welcome in Yorkshire.....we have our fair share of 'hangers ons' here already.

Re: Move House of Lords

According to the Dictionary,
Definition of a Hanger on....
a person who tries to be friendly and spend time with rich and important people, especially to get an advantage.
So no reason to think that Yorkshire has less hangers on than any other place unless there is proof to the contrary .

Re: Move House of Lords

The whole idea is daft.  Anyone would think that our country was thousands of miles long!  Do we hear Americans complaining that both houses are in Washington?  (and some bits of the USA are as far away from Washington as we are - not to mention the distances in Canada).
This is the same Lord Adonis, who failed to get elected into the commons, so his mate Tony gave him a peerage and a ministry anyway. He's purely headline grabbing.
