Mountain for Sale

Never realised that someone owned this mountain, just assumed the National Trust were the owners,
If it comes with planning permission for one dwelling at the top I might be interested  Wink

Re: Mountain for Sale

One of my favourites for a half day walk, especially going via sharp edge.

Seems a good idea but it would be all down hill from there.

Re: Mountain for Sale

The trouble is after paying out £1.7 Million, you'd then have to spend a lot on  2.4 Metre high deer fencing at £3/metre (ex posts and installation) to keep the walker oiks off your mountain.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: Mountain for Sale

Having watched the current owner on Countryfile it's actually open access and produces no income.

Re: Mountain for Sale

Because it's in the Lake District National Park
Quote
In common with all other National Parks in England, there is no restriction on entry to, or movement within the park along public routes, but access to cultivated land is usually restricted to public footpaths, bridleways and byways. Much of the uncultivated land has statutory open access rights - which cover around 50% of the Park.

Re: Mountain for Sale

Could probably turn it into a large quarry and sell the mountain block by block.
