Motorways Pot Holes

Ok I know many roads have potholes, quite lucky if you can find one without them but motorways .....?

Between junctions 34 to 39 on the M6 they are all over the place, some fairly deep, we are all aware of the damage they can do to cars but what about motor bikes ?

Having spent several hours driving today part of it covering this particular section not a single motor bike passed me, is it now to dangerous to travel by motorbike on the motorway ?

What are they like in your area ?

Re: Motorways Pot Holes

Don't do much driving on motorways these days, but the M4 towards Swansea coming from the direction of Carmarthen is certainly getting worse. The nearer you get the more cracks and depressions you run over. Had to pay out a few months ago for my third set of front coil springs in ten years........ see postings on potholes  Crazy2

Why don't you drive faster?

True, but fitting rotor blades might a better solution. Smiley

Just need to get a car with an interconnected front-to-rear suspension and you'll glide over potholes like they weren't there... Cheesy

Re: Motorways Pot Holes

Like the hydrolastic suspension on the Morris 1100 you mean?

Had one of those back in the early 70's and it used to leak all the time. Don't recall it being better over potholes either.

One of my worst cars ever, but at least it was not an Allegro!

Re: Motorways Pot Holes

While not motorways two of our local councils seem to be spending the last of their budgets on resurfacing major A roads and some minor roads with road closures. Some of these closures are permanent and some (duel carriageways) from 11pm to 5am.as work.continues.

@Minivanman: Those were the days (when innovation in car design was a not-quite-round steering wheel! Cheesy)

Re: Motorways Pot Holes

You might just have hit upon the solution there @Mav - close the road off!

Sorted Thumbs Up

Never seen service areas called pot holes before. i thought the smells were from the meals.Funny

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Re: Motorways Pot Holes

So where has all the "road tax" gone then  ? ? ?

( for the pedants.... yeah,... I know it is disguised as "Vehicle Excise Duty".... but they would do that , wouldn`t they) ...
