This
do know fireworks1 one of your passphrases. Lets get directly to purpose. Neither anyone has paid me to check about you. You do not know me and you are most likely wondering why you are getting this e-mail? in fact, i setup a malware on the X vids (sexually graphic) site and do you know what, you visited this website to experience fun (you know what i mean). While you were viewing video clips, your browser initiated functioning as a Remote Desktop having a keylogger which gave me accessibility to your display screen and web camera. Just after that, my software collected all of your contacts from your Messenger, social networks, as well as email . Next i made a double-screen video. 1st part displays the video you were watching (you've got a good taste ; )), and next part displays the view of your web camera, yeah its u. You do have two alternatives. Let us analyze each of these options in particulars: 1st option is to disregard this e-mail. in such a case, i am going to send your actual tape to every one of your contacts and think about regarding the awkwardness you will definitely get. Do not forget should you be in an intimate relationship, precisely how it will eventually affect? Number two alternative should be to pay me USD 867. i will call it a donation. in this scenario, i will right away erase your video footage. You could carry on your way of life like this never occurred and you will not ever hear back again from me. You'll make the payment via Bitcoin (if you don't know this, search 'how to buy bitcoin' in Google). BTC address to send to: 1F56aAUkrWMs4NAUdcNft9tvNQbznrDT4Y [case SeNSiTiVe so copy and paste it] Should you are making plans for going to the police, good, this message can not be traced back to me. I have covered my actions. i am also not attempting to charge you a lot, i only want to be rewarded. You have two days in order to make the payment. i have a specific pixel in this email message, and right now i know that you have read through this mail. if i do not receive the BitCoins, i definitely will send your video to all of your contacts including relatives, colleagues, and so on. Having said that, if i do get paid, i'll erase the video immediately. if you need evidence, reply with Yes & i will certainly send out your video recording to your 12 friends. it's a non-negotiable offer that being said please don't waste my time and yours by responding to this e mail.
was in one of my in boxes this morning, a POP3 type, that I haven't used for years. Quite funny it is, because I don't have equipment mentioned and there are no pyrotechnics anywhere in my system.
As to pyrotechnics, some idiots did let off some around midnight on Sat.

Of course I've deleted it! My passwords to emails are all strings of alpha numeric and symbols.

I`ve had a couple of those emails, over the years....but each time they are discounted, because I have never used my camera on my laptop, ( don`t know how to ! ! ! )... and just for good measure, there is a blob of bluetack covering the lens ! ! ! ...

And for those that just cannot get a reply to their emails...

I suspect it's easier than most of us think. Must be a reason why governments spend billions on supercomputers. And when you get warnings like this, probably there already.
As to Bitcoins, given the recent problems, I think I'll stick with something a bit safer.

Try checking your email addresses on here.....
Two of mine were on it, passwords changed pdq.
In January 2019, a large collection of credential stuffing lists (combinations of email addresses and passwords used to hijack accounts on other services) was discovered being distributed on a popular hacking forum. The data contained almost 2.7 billion records including 773 million unique email addresses alongside passwords those addresses had used on other breached services. Full details on the incident and how to search the breached passwords are provided in the blog post The 773 Million Record "Collection #1" Data Breach.

A list of confirmed email addresses has a value.
I wonder if you’ve just added yours to the list....

No, it's safe. But absolutely anyone who you send an email to will know your email address. What they don't know is your password. That's what these data breaches contain, lists of addresses and passwords. That's where the value lies.
They usually arise from using the same password for emails as the login password for web sites. These sites get hacked and passwords lifted, together with associated contact details, including email addresses.

You’re probably right, but a site that asks for your email address to check on one page and then on another page asks for a password to check has to start bells ringing.
I did check my email address and got 5 positives which isn’t surprising given I’ve used it for more than 20 years.
i don’t get the password check, unless it’s matched to the email address it can only be a database lookup.

Asks for your password??? No it doesn't!!!!!! Just the email address. That's all you put in. There's nowhere on the page that the link brings up that asks for a password.
What it is telling you is that there are records out there which link a password to your email address. It might not be the current password of course, but it's a fair bet that it is if it's never been changed.
Edit: are you looking at the password checker on the link to 1Password.com? All that does is to check any password that you might be thinking of using against a database, which lists the number of times the password has been found in hacking lists. It gives you a strength rating, the more common it is the easier it will be for a hacker to crack it. Random alphanumeric strings are usually safe because they don't represent real words, which is what most people use, and can't be guessed.

All I can see is a box asking for an email address. A-haa.... Yes I see. That's the same as the 1Password checker. Many web sites now have a password strength checker which is the same . Just a database reader as a explained above. Best to change passwords regularly anyway.
