Mobile network speed tests

Thought I'd start a thread on mobile speed tests.
My network is Three and get a good service of both 3G and 4G here in Newcastle.  Just done a speed test on 1 bar of 4G on my iPhone.  Pretty impressive I say for my £17 a month contract.
Feel free to post yours Smiley.
The worse I've had is probably Vodafone when their 4G didn't seem to work  Undecided

No surprise there, I had my Galaxy Tab on vodanoservice when I first got it and even in Newcastle city centre where it reported full bars, it got no signal for data, had to tether it to my Three phone to use it... Grin
It's amusing that one of the oldest mobile networks in the UK can't get coverage in a city...

Re: Mobile network speed tests

Not bad at all NE, 6 times faster than my ADSL!
One of the advantages of living in a big town or city, I don't even get a mobile signal here full stop.

Re: Mobile network speed tests

Seems as if 3 is much more reliable and faster on 3G than any other UK network. Same for 4G.
I can say Three's 4G isn't the best for coverage, but when you do get it, it is pretty fast.
When at work, Three 4G is available and is the new Super Voice 4G  Cheesy

One of the things that put me off EE was speed - signal is good but what is the speed like  Undecided

Re: Mobile network speed tests

EE are supposed to have the biggest chunks of 4G frequency spectrum (hence more bandwidth available):

Re: Mobile network speed tests

Also with O2.
Ping 14ms
Download 13.96 Mbps
Upload 1.07
Initially it  was showing 'Welwyn Garden City'  as location. Looking down the list of places the only O2 I could see was 'Slough' which I selected. Does this make a difference? I am nowhere near either place. Undecided

Re: Mobile network speed tests

sat in the lounge I get 2mbs down /1.4 up, with a ping of 150 an just 1 bar of signal, on the road out front I get 56mb down 25mb up with 4 bars of signal and ping of 45... on the wifi in the home I get anything from 25meg down to 60meg down depending on who's doing what on the network /internet...
the single bar problem should hopefully disappear this week after the phone mast maint has been done by the phone company (ever since someone damaged it a couple of years ago the signal has been pants as it wasn't due proper maint and the emergency repair was a botch to get it up n running till the next month when the maint was due ....)
just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you

Re: Mobile network speed tests

Finally got my Galaxy S3 non-LTE model unlocked (nice of Three to give me a free unlock code!!), so, GiffGaff SIM inserted and, erm, disappointing, and confusing, results:
