Maybe appealing is not such a good idea!!

I only caught this briefly on the car radio (LBC 97.3) on my way home, but didn't take in much in the way of details, other than;  A convicted murderer involved in the killing of a young teenager who complained about having conkers thrown at him by the defendant. Went to appeal against his 10 1/2 year sentence and, the judge promptly extended it to 12 years.
Good, but it does beggar the question whether that is long enough.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

It does make you wonder.
When compared to say American sentences for serious crimes, ours seems almost like holiday breaks in comparison.
