The power of the police and their ability to drag those size nines.
Disgraceful.

Never give such claims credibility, as they have us assume that all those involved in whatever capacity would not have been paid a brass farthing otherwise - which of course is nonsense.

If you wring your hands long enough the guilty will die before they face trial; I'm sure you can think of recent cases of this.

As the saying goes, justice delayed is justice denied because the guilty do not live long enough for it to be fully exacted and as you rightly say, lots more examples.

And some of the victims' relatives do not live long enough to see justice done.

Just goes to show, the law is a "type of donkey*", slow and would rather cover it's own "type of donkey"...

i think we need to remember that our justice system works on the principle of innocent until proven guilty.
no-one has been to court yet, so lets not get ahead of ourselves.
there may also be serious doubt as to whether anyone charged could ever have a fair trial.

^^
There's too much emotion around those horrific events. It's suggested that the trial may have to be brought south, say London, to ensure a fair jury, and even then it will need strict vetting to avoid people connected to relatives of either plaintiffs , or arraigned.

So less chance of being found guilty then?
Sorry but no, the good people of Liverpool need to have their day in court.

Given that it's been proven that the CIA and NSA have been hacking into every computing device that they can over the years, I'm sure the law will prove that you're no longer innocent until proven guilty the day that some pervert says "I didn't download those, the CIA hacked me"
At that point what do you think will happen? - I very much doubt the court will accept that OR be able to disprove it and so the defendant will suddenly find themselves guilty until proven innocent (and rightly so but you see the point of principle).
